Turnkey Consulting offers industry insight to students at Brunel University

Turnkey Consulting has provided insight into real world applications of SAP controls to students at Brunel University.  The IT security specialist delivered a lecture on 'Control in SAP Environments' to the Business Systems Integration (with SAP Technology) MSc course at the end of 2009.

Brunel University has strong links with industry and Turnkey Consulting's input was aimed at providing students with practical examples SAP control applications.

Richard Hunt, managing director at Turnkey Consulting, who delivered the lecture explains:  “Brunel is renowned for its focus on the business community.  This enables a hands-on approach to learning, and makes courses relevant to the industry that students are planning to enter when they complete their studies.  The lecture offered the opportunity for us to provide input in the form of explaining our day-to-day experiences to an audience of potential SAP leaders of the future.  We also believe that it is important for commercial entities to include altruistic activity in their operations.”

The SAP module of the Business Systems Integration MSc at Brunel discusses the main business processes in SAP and how they interact.  Many elements of a business process exist to provide a control, for example checking stock levels or matching purchase orders to invoices.  Turnkey Consulting's lecture focused on offering insight into these controls and providing students with the context for why specific tasks had to be carried out in SAP.

Alan Serrano, the course manager for Business Systems Integration (with SAP Technology) MSc, confirms:  “Turnkey Consulting had clearly done its homework to ensure the topics covered in the lecture were directly relevant to the course, and the feedback from students has been extremely positive.  It also offered a good example of how robust qualifications can form a base on which to build a successful career.”

Turnkey Consulting and Brunel University are currently exploring other industry partnership activities they might undertake together in 2010.
